WHO ARE WE?
YOURMILITARYHISTORY.COM was founded in 2003 in PortlandOregon and is now located in South Carolina. As a former Marine, MOS 0481 and 1989 OCS Graduate with service from 1985 to 1991, I wanted to have some way to display my military career service and share my history with friends and family. I searched around andwas shocked at the lack of options I had. I could make a custom shadowbox to show off my service, but the cost of putting even a simple one together was prohibitive at well over $400. I also had long since misplaced many of my military awards and items. The medals, emblems, badges and unit patches were difficult to track down and expensive. This is even more true for veterans looking for items from WW II and Korea.
I found that there are a few sites on the internet that offer some replacement certificates, but most were of poor quality, home printed on an 8 x 11 piece of paper, and they had very little options for customization. None could do photographs and most offered “cartoon” line art for the awards. They did not make any of the unique training certificates or do custom work. Their prices were high and the feeling I received from a $39 "piece of paper" was not very satisfying. This was not acceptable to me. My service deserved to be shown off in a custom, high quality, professional way. Since I had over ten years in graphic design and photography, I decided to create my own service certificate. The result far exceeded my expectations and almost each veteran I showed it to wanted one of their own. The demand has grown to the extent that I formed the company of Yourmilitaryhistory.com.
